QUESTIONS.
Dawn asked how I became a christian. There was a lady who would come and pick me up for Sunday school when I was just a little girl, I think I was around 4 or 5. I don't remember her name, or her face, but I do remember the pictures and stories of Jesus at Sunday school and the faith that they planted in me despite my life with a completely secular, single teen mother. I can never remember NOT believing in Jesus, and not feeling safe and loved by Him despite a very traumatic childhood. He was always there for me, even when noone else was. And I mean that quite literally. When I look back on certain circumstances and situations and try to imagine my own tender children in those same situations my heart just seizes up. How true it is though that God works all things out for good in the lives of those He loves and has called according to His purposes. I know I wouldn't be who I was today without the specific series of circumstances I have grown out of and grown from. I can only attribute my faith and salvation to Him and give Him humble thanks. "Becoming" a christian has not been something I can mark by dates. I believed from as far back as I can remember. I was baptized at a young age, I'm not even sure what YEAR it was to tell you the truth, and it doesn't really matter (I think I was six). All I know is that my love for Him and trust in Him grows stronger and truer each day. He has always been there for me, and never failed me. I am thankful to know that this will always be the case.
Savannah asked; "How do you manage homeschooling, on a practical level, with the little ones around. " Finally getting to this one Sav... I posted it over at *The Schoolhouse*
Grammy asked; "How is it doing the chores in that weather?" NOT FUN. The sheeps water freezes over in spite of being in an electrically heated dispenser. The cats whiskers are all frosted over despite the heat lamp in the barn and their litter freezes up in big clumps at the bottom of the litter boxes. I had to do a double take today when I thought I saw a FIRE in the horse corral... smoke wafting up like there was a little bonfire or something... one of the horses must have just taken a dump and walked away and man did that produce some smoke in those frigid temps!
TAGS
I was tagged by Leanne at *Fireflies in the Garden* for the Fourth Photo Meme. In which you open the fourth picture in your fourth picture folder and post it for viewing. Lo and behold my Ragdoll tom from this spring's litter who, poor thing, still doesn't have a name.
AWARDS
Amy at *Zoes Splendor* awarded me the
award which I in turn pass on to *Mom and Us*.
Sarah at *Beauty in the Mundane* awarded me the
When Life Hands You Lemons Award. This award is passed to bloggers for showing great Attitude and/or Gratitude. I'm so thankful for this lemonade stand, because it is a reminder to me of how far He has brought me (from a negative attitude to a positive one). Thanks Sarah. I pass this award on to Katrina at *Simple Life Moments*, because she is a girl after my own heart.
Katrina at *Simple Life Moments* awarded me the
award which "acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day." I love that. I especially love how it recognizes this is true of EVERY blogger in our own individual, special and unique ways. Therefore, I award this to EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. *grin*. And I really mean that. Don't just leave it sitting here. Take it and pass it on to fellow bloggers in your life who enrich you just by sharing their stories.
Noreen at *Life Blessings* blessed me with the
award which just lit up my face with a smile because it is in Portugese and I could read it without needing an explanation. This award recognizes that “This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. " I would like to pass this award on to Dawn at *Dawn Writes*, because she has become a "more than blogging friend" whose emails I cherish and who sent me the yummiest Texan coffee via mail *grin*.

Just let me say that I read through your post with my "name the cat" idea in mind before seeing the award you've given to me at the end.
So...
I would name your beautiful cat "Latte." Doesn't he look like he's just dipped his face into a delicious latte? Okay, I know that's not a very masculine name for an ole tom cat.
Thank you for the award. It made my day!
Ready for some more coffee? Which was your favorite?
PS - Just reread my previous comment and blushing again...
This time at the dreadful errors I made in verb agreements. Let's not discuss my college major, k? Ha ha!
I just loved your post today.
I kept looking at the word "PRAIRIE" and came up with "RORIE" - the usual spelling would be Rory - which means "red king!" He's a beauty and really sweet I am sure. Always fun to visit with you.
Thank you , dear friend, your words mean so much to me.
We had a cat once when I was a little girl whom we named Mulligan, as in "Mike Mulligan and his steam shovel"... you know the book? I have no idea why we named him that, but I sure loved that cat.
Anyway, I hope you have a great week!
What a beautiful cat! We have a short-haired tom with similar coloring--white with splashes of light orange in the same places as yours. My 18yo suggested naming him Cracker because he's the only white cat:-D I insisted we find a Spanish name since the rest from that litter and the one previous had Spanish names. We checked Babelfish and it said galleta. The hispanic guys on dh's crew say that is more like cookie than cracker, but the name stuck.
What a beautiful cat! I say he looks like an Oliver!
I have nothing - because I totally love Dawn's name for him - Latte. It would be perkfect ;)
Hey, I didn't know it was open season on Prairie Chick!!
LOL...I totally would have asked a million more questions! Haha, just kidding, the main one I've been wondering was how you came to Christ...I just knew that would be a beautiful one! Thanks for sharing. So like my own story, yet different. Isn't God kind to bring us out of such darkness into His light?!
My vote goes to Singe... looks like he was trying to light a propane furnace... heh heh... talk to pguy... he might know the story behind that. :)
So neat to see so many blessed by God's work in your life... keep it up, friend.

I love the name Oliver! ;-) Known some great cats named Oliver.
How about Bogart?
Wow. That is fun to have questions answered. Thanks for sharing. I was also dropped off at church. Some day I should give my testimony as a post for the day. The cat should be 'Rags'. Thats cute.
I have just spent quite a long time on your blog, visiting all your rooms, having a grand time! Everyone here went to bed early and I am doing whatever I want to do!!
Blessings!
Okay, I am LOVING the name entries, just so you know, I decided on a prize, and ordered it online today (drumroll please....) from ITALY... so keep em' coming if you want a chance to win a taste of my all time favourite indulgence. (hint, it involves CHOCOLATE).
You kitty reminds me of my rag doll tom name Tomas. He was wonderful, lived in the barn and came to house for visits, was fiesty and loving. I miss him terribly. I had him for 14 years.

I have been thinking on the cat name... and the one I have come up with is Wilbur... like Wilbur the pig from Charlotte's Webb. I do like the suggestion of Mulligan too... my boys love that book!
Blessings!
I think Fluffy Frisbee would be a fun name! I happened upon your blog recently and love your photography skills! Have an awesome day!

The name I'm throwing out there for the cat is...Mordecai. I just started studying Esther and I thought that name sounded pretty cool. Have a great day!! Leanne
Tybalt. (for some reason, the more I look at that picture the more I think that name suits him.)
Thank you so much for your vote of confidence! We are having a good time with our blog, and also love meeting fellow bloggers like you!
Since we are a bit new to this award thing, what do we do with the award? Do we pass it on as well?
Thanks again!
Hi Darlene... I'm a bit of an "award rebel".... they usually come with some list of things to do and number of people to pass them on to, but I just accept them graciously, pass them on to whoever I feel like (or not at all!)... so whatever tickles your fancy I say!
